Artisan Breads 101 (ages 16+)Learn to Make Foccacia, Ciabatta, and the Perfect Dinner Roll
About this experience
Join Executive Pastry Chef Sam Major for a delightful night learning to make artisan breads at home! In this class, you'll make hand mixed focaccia, ciabatta, and classic butter rolls. You'll:
- Learn about the bread making process, including mixing, rising, shaping, resting, and baking
- Get to know the relationship between time, flavor and final bread results
- Understand the importance of each ingredient in bread dough, including bread starter
- Mix all of your own doughs for focaccia, ciabatta and dinner rolls
You'll leave this class with three types of artisan breads and more dough for baking at home!
Your Instructor: Executive Pastry Chef Sam Major
After graduating valedictorian from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, Chef Sam trained at five-star, five-diamond hotels; award winning caterers; and nationally recognized fine dining restaurants. He has taught at The Art Institute, Sur La Table, Orson Gygi, and in dozens of homes. He is currently the Executive Patry Chef at Dessert Unlimited, which he started with his wife, Nancy. Chef Sam and his family live outside Dallas, Texas.
